Privacy policy
The short version. Troopnaut has no ads, no advertising SDK and no third-party analytics. Your progress lives on your device. Nothing leaves it unless you sign in to keep your purchases, buy something, or email us. We do not sell or share your data, and there is nothing here to sell.
1. Who we are
Troopnaut is published by Bashroom, a French société par actions simplifiée with a share capital of €1,000, registered under SIREN 843 951 591, whose registered office is at 12 rue Louis Renault, 31130 Balma, France. The game is designed and developed by Jeremy Brunel.
Bashroom is the data controller for everything described here. For any privacy question or request: troopnaut@bashroom.com.
2. What this covers
This policy covers the Troopnaut game on iOS and Android, and this
website, troopnaut.com. It does not cover Apple, Google, or anyone else whose
own terms apply when you use their store — they decide what they collect, and their
policies say so.
3. What the game stores on your device
Almost everything the game remembers stays on your phone, in local application storage. It is not an account, it is not sent anywhere, and we cannot read it.
| Stored as | What it holds |
|---|---|
fag.save.v1 |
Your progress: level reached, upgrades, in-game currency, cosmetics owned. |
fag.stats.v1 |
Play statistics and records that feed the achievements screen. |
fag.settings.v1 |
Your settings: per-bus volumes, chosen soundtrack, display options. |
fag.lang.v1 |
Your chosen language. |
None of it contains your name, your email, your contacts, your location or any device identifier. Deleting the app deletes all of it.
4. Accounts and cloud save
You can play the entire game without an account. Signing in exists for one reason: so that what you paid for survives a reinstall, a lost phone, or a move between iOS and Android.
Sign-in uses Apple or Google. If you use it, we receive and store:
- an opaque account identifier issued by Apple or Google — a random string, not your login;
- an email address, only if the provider gives us one. With Sign in with Apple you can hide it, and Apple sends us a relay address instead. Either is fine for us;
- your save data (the same content as the table above) and the list of items you own, so we can give them back to you.
We do not receive your password. We never receive a password — authentication happens entirely on Apple's or Google's side.
5. Purchases and tips
Apple and Google are the sellers. In-app purchases go through the App Store and Google Play. We never see your card number, your billing address, or your bank. We receive a confirmation that a purchase happened and which item it was.
To keep those confirmations straight across devices we use RevenueCat, Inc. (United States) as purchase infrastructure. It receives a pseudonymous app user identifier and the store receipt — never your payment details.
Tips are optional and give nothing in return. If you tip through a store, the same applies as above. If you send a crypto tip using an address published on our support page, the transaction is recorded on a public blockchain that we do not control and cannot erase; we learn a wallet address and an amount, and nothing that identifies you unless you tell us yourself.
6. What we never collect
- No advertising. No ad SDK, no ad identifier, no rewarded video.
- No third-party analytics. No Firebase Analytics, no GameAnalytics, no attribution or fingerprinting kit.
- No tracking across apps or sites, and nothing sold to data brokers.
- No location, contacts, photos, microphone or camera. The game never asks.
- No crash reports sent to us. When something breaks, the game shows you a local failure screen; it does not phone home.
7. This website
troopnaut.com is a set of static pages. It sets
no cookies, runs no analytics, embeds no third-party fonts, pixels or
iframes, and contains no consent banner because there is nothing to consent to.
It is hosted on Cloudflare Pages (Cloudflare, Inc.). Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical connection data — IP address, browser user agent, requested page, timestamp — to deliver the page and to block attacks. We do not use those logs to build profiles, and we do not link them to any account.
8. When you write to us
If you email us we keep the thread: your address, what you wrote, and our answer. That is how support works. We use it to answer you and, where relevant, to fix the bug you found.
9. Why we are allowed to
| What | Legal basis (GDPR) |
|---|---|
| On-device storage needed to run the game | Performance of a contract — Art. 6(1)(b) |
| Account, cloud save, restoring what you bought | Performance of a contract — Art. 6(1)(b) |
| Purchase records, refunds, accounting obligations | Contract and legal obligation — Art. 6(1)(b) and (c) |
| Support emails | Legitimate interest in answering you — Art. 6(1)(f) |
| Host logs, security, anti-abuse | Legitimate interest in keeping the service up — Art. 6(1)(f) |
10. How long we keep things
- On your device: until you delete the app or reset your progress from the game.
- Account and cloud save: as long as the account exists. If you ask us to delete it, we delete it — see your rights.
- Purchase records: as long as French accounting law requires (currently ten years for accounting documents), because a receipt is not ours to throw away.
- Support emails: up to three years after the last message.
- Host logs: short-lived, kept by Cloudflare under its own policy.
11. Transfers outside the EU
Bashroom operates from France. Two of our providers are US companies — Cloudflare (hosting) and RevenueCat (purchase infrastructure). Transfers to them rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses together with the providers' own supplementary measures. You can ask us for details.
12. Children
Troopnaut is a cartoon game suitable for a wide audience, and it is deliberately built so that a child playing it is not a data subject at all: no ads, no profiling, no social features, no chat, no user-visible identity. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you are a parent and believe an account belongs to your child, email us and we will delete it.
13. Your rights
If you are in the EU or the UK you have the right to access, correct, delete, export, or restrict the use of your personal data, and to object to processing based on legitimate interest. There is no automated decision-making and no profiling here.
To exercise any of them, email troopnaut@bashroom.com. We answer within one month. We may need to confirm you control the account — usually by asking you to write from the address it is attached to.
Two shortcuts that need no email at all: in the game, Settings → Data → Delete my data erases everything stored on the device immediately, and deleting the app does the same. The whole procedure, including the account itself, is on the delete your account and data page.
If you think we have mishandled your data you can complain to your national supervisory authority. In France that is the CNIL. We would rather you told us first.
14. Changes
If this policy changes we update the date at the top and, when the change actually matters to you, say so in the game's release notes. We do not quietly widen what we collect.
